Currently the format of choice is to supply Portable Document Format (PDF) files however I am still very happy to receive Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) files or even JPEG files provided that they are saved from a original high-res original and NOT FROM THE INTERNET.

The most important question however is at what resolution must you supply print files. The answer here will vary from person to person. Personal experience however will dictate that the following resolutions will be quite suitable for:

Litho print – 300dpi at full size

Wide format digital print – 120-150dpi at full size

Digital press – 200-300dpi at full size

Other requirements:

Images to be supplied in RGB unless otherwise discussed

DO NOT CONVERT YOUR IMAGES TO CMYK unless otherwise discussed

DO NOT INCLUDE A FANCY COLOUR PROFILE

ENSURE YOU CONVERT ANY FANCY PROFILE TO THE ‘Adobe 1998′ ICC colour profile

If you are saving the file as a TIFF file ensure you only use LZW compression, if any

For now that is it. There is a lot more to be said and I am sure there will be people out there saying the above info is a little skant. Which it is but it will get you going for now. If you have any queries please leave a comment or <ahref="mailto:zane@accessbranding.com">email me.
